RIGHT BY URBAN PERCH
BarrieHaus Beer Co.
A family-run lager brewery and biergarten in a historic Ybor setting. It is the easy first stop from Urban Perch and one of the places that makes this side of the neighborhood special.
Walk from two owner-hosted stays to Columbia, flamenco, El Puerto, Ybor breweries, the free streetcar, and the emerging Gasworx
THE LOCAL GUIDE
Ybor Roost and Urban Perch put you inside the neighborhood, not across town from it. Both homes are two blocks from 7th Avenue, and each gives you a private place to come back to after the restaurants, breweries, streetcar rides, games and late nights. This is the short list we would give friends staying with us.
RIGHT BY URBAN PERCH
A family-run lager brewery and biergarten in a historic Ybor setting. It is the easy first stop from Urban Perch and one of the places that makes this side of the neighborhood special.
VERY CLOSE TO YBOR ROOST
The original Columbia is one of the essential Ybor experiences and it is very close to Ybor Roost. Make a night of it: reserve dinner and the live flamenco show, then walk back to your private hot tub. The restaurant requires reservations for the dinner show and publishes current seating details on its website.
START THE MORNING HERE
The original Ybor bakery dates to 1915 and remains one of Tampa's great Cuban-bread institutions. Pick up café con leche, pastries and a loaf while it is fresh.
LEAVE THE CAR PARKED
The streetcar connects Ybor with the Channel District and downtown. It is an easy way to reach Water Street, the Riverwalk, Benchmark International Arena and convention-center events without turning the trip into a parking exercise.
COMING SOON BESIDE URBAN PERCH
Gasworx is an active, still-developing neighborhood project beside Urban Perch. It is being built to connect historic Ybor City with the Channel District and downtown through new residences, shops, restaurants, parks, trails and future streetcar access. A marketplace is planned for 2027, and a new live-music venue has been announced for the district.
This is not a finished attraction today, and construction conditions and opening dates will change. The exciting part is the location: Urban Perch gives guests a private rooftop home base where historic Ybor meets one of Tampa's most ambitious new walkable districts.
EAT, DRINK & EXPLORE
Twenty rotating beers, a kitchen and brewery tours inside a century-old Ybor building. The reclaimed materials and old Tampa details make the taproom part of the experience.
Sicilian food in a beautifully restored Ybor building. Head upstairs to Santo's Drinkeria for cocktails, small plates and sunset views over the historic district.
This is one of our real local recommendations, not a generic tourist-list pick. El Puerto serves Argentine and Peruvian-inspired food at 5th and 17th, close to Urban Perch. Our order is the churrasco skirt steak. Lunch is often busy; dinner can be easier, but the food is every bit as worthwhile.
The neighborhood's main spine for restaurants, coffee, live music, cigar shops and nightlife. Both homes are two blocks away, close enough to walk and far enough to have a private retreat when you are done.
Slow down for the brick streets, former cigar factories, balconies, murals and the chickens that wander the neighborhood. Ybor is not a manufactured entertainment district. Its history is the attraction.
TWO HOST PICKS ON 7TH AVENUE
This is an easy Ybor night we recommend to our own friends. Both stops are right on 7th Avenue.
OUR FAVORITE HAPPY-HOUR DINNER DEAL
One of the best dinner deals in town: 50% off pastas and entrées every day from 4–7 PM. Make sure your meal order is placed before happy hour ends, and confirm the discount with your server.
Their official site also lists $4 SKYY martinis from 11:30 AM–7 PM. They are inexpensive and generous. Pace yourself.
What to order: the pistachio-crusted Gulf grouper is a great local-fish choice. The steaks are excellent too.
Specials and prices can change. Check the current offer before you go.
COCKTAILS + A GREAT YBOR VIBE
One of our favorite places for a proper drink. The room is lively without feeling generic, and the bartenders make excellent classic and modern craft cocktails.
The back bar holds more than 700 labels, including 200 whiskies, plus a deep tequila and mezcal selection. Tell the bartender what flavors you like and let them guide you.
Good for: a pre-dinner cocktail, a relaxed date-night drink or the first stop of a night on 7th Avenue.

Please send vehicle information before 9 PM whenever possible. We can complete registrations almost every time, but a late-night same-day registration may not be possible.
Arriving late, bringing a third car or still waiting for registration? Use a nearby paid lot, parking garage or a legal pay-by-plate space until we confirm registration. Always follow the sign on the exact block where you park.
CHOOSE YOUR HOME BASE
Best for couples, quiet resets and hot-tub nights.
An artist-designed tiny house filled with original local art. The private bougainvillea backyard feels like an urban oasis, yet 7th Avenue is only two blocks away. One queen bedroom plus a queen sleeper sofa. Sleeps up to four.
Best for groups, game weekends and the Gasworx side of Ybor.
Three bedrooms, two king beds, two full beds and a private rooftop deck with city views and a 65-inch outdoor TV. Watch the game upstairs, walk to BarrieHaus or 7th Avenue, then come home without leaving the neighborhood. Sleeps up to eight.
STEAL OUR WEEKEND
Start with coffee and Cuban bread, spend the afternoon exploring the historic district, book dinner at Columbia or Casa Santo Stefano, then leave the crowds behind for a private soak under the bougainvillea.
Meet at BarrieHaus, take the streetcar toward the arena when the Lightning or a concert is in town, then finish the night on your own rooftop. For football weekends, Urban Perch gives the group room to spread out and the best place to watch the other games.
Walk 7th Avenue, use the free streetcar for the Channel District and downtown, and return to a real neighborhood instead of moving the car from garage to garage. Check official service alerts before heading out.
